Auction Items

Guidelines for the Online Auction

  1. Ajahn’s Birthday Online Auction is open to everyone (local and international).
  2. A person wishing to bid on an item must register prior to the Auction and agree with the Terms and Conditions.
  3. Items are available for bidding via smartphone, tablet or computer.
  4. Each increase in a bid must meet or exceed the minimum increment assigned to that item (please see the Description for each item).
  5. We set up Proxy/Automatic Bidding, which allows you to stay ahead of the competition of an item without needing to be on the site. Simply enter the maximum price you are willing to pay andclick ‘Bid Now’ button. The site will bid on your behalf while you are away.
  6. If you are outbid, you will be sent an SMS notification to enter a new maximum amount (please ensure you add your mobile number and its country code e.g. +62 for Indonesia or +61 for Australia).
  7. You are welcome to bid on more than 1 item.
  8. Kindly note you will bid in Australian dollars.
  9. All payments for winning auction bids are to be made via direct bank transfer within 5 working days after the end of the Auction.
  10. Item/s can be shipped to the Buyer’s address upon receipt of payment via direct fund transfer. 
  11. The shipping cost will be covered by the organiser.

There will be two closing times:

  • 7th August around 12.30pm (AWST): Ajahn Brahm will personally auction a number of items during the live event in Jhana Grove. Anyone who attends the event in person or online is invited to bid. 
  • 8th August at 8pm (AWST): most of Ajahn Brahm’s personal items will be available until the 8th August.

The organiser (The Buddhist Society of Western Australia and The Buddhist Society of Victoria) reserves the right to change the online Auction ending time. Bidders will be notified of any changes by email. 

These items have been donated to the Buddhist Society of Victoria Inc (BSV)  for the purpose of raising funds for the Newbury Buddhist Monastery Retreat Centre project, and to promote Buddhist Spirituality and Practices. It has nil “Commercial Market Transferable Value”. All proceeds from this online auction will go to support the Newbury Buddhist Monastery Meditation Retreat Centre project.

As the BSV is a DGR registered charitable organisation, all donations made to the BSV Monastery Building Fund are Tax Deductible in the hands of the donors.

We are inviting Bidders to bid for the Right to make a Donation to the BSV Monastery Building Fund. The BSV will offer the item to the highest Bidder as a token of appreciation and gratitude.
